Why We Built ShareBolt

The file sharing market had not changed fundamentally in 15 years. Then AI agents arrived.

Legacy cloud storage and file sharing platforms were designed for humans clicking links and dragging files. They store your data on their servers, hold the encryption keys, and cap file sizes to control infrastructure costs. That model made sense in 2008.

In 2025, AI agents are running 24/7, autonomously processing and exchanging multi-gigabyte datasets, model weights, and audit logs. They cannot click "accept transfer" links. They need cryptographic identities, sandbox quotas, and tamper-evident audit trails. No existing platform provided that.

ShareBolt was built to solve exactly that gap โ€” starting with the hardest constraint: zero-knowledge encryption, where the server is architecturally incapable of reading your files, regardless of legal compulsion, breach, or insider threat.
